Description Troy Giunipero 2008-08-16 13:03:54 UTC
When working in a page, then saving changes, sometimes error notation displays in the editor when in fact no errors
exist. See attached screenshot for example.

I've encountered this working in html, jsp, and java files.

Unfortunately, I cannot give steps to reproduce this. It occurs sporadically, but often enough to create an issue for.
Restarting the IDE fixes the problem.

I don't think this is platform-specific - I also encountered this behavior when using Linux Ubuntu up until several
months ago.

Could you please provide some additional info?

- your messages.log file (located inside var/log of your userdir, typically $HOME/.netbeans)
- does the error always show up on the first line of code, like on attached screenshot?
- does file reopen help?

Thanks.

Responses inline:

Could you please provide some additional info?

  - your messages.log file (located inside var/log of your userdir, typically $HOME/.netbeans)

attached. I am attaching the log files for 6.1 and 6.5 Beta.

  - does the error always show up on the first line of code, like on attached screenshot?

usually it does. I have come across them in the middle of a file however.

  - does file reopen help?

no.

  Thanks.

//Removing INCOMPLETE status - user provided desired information

msauer, does the log help you?

I must admit, I have never seen this problem. Tgiunpiero, is the error still the same? I mean in .html and .java files?
Otherwise, do you remember, what type of error is displayed?

Thanks for help
Comment 9 Max Sauer 2008-09-24 15:24:38 UTC
As for the log, there is no helpful information inside. Since the issue is RANDOM and we do not have any reproducible usecase, it is very difficult to track
down..

Could be related to http://www.netbeans.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=148036.

We will resolve the issue LATER.
