Reassigning to java. I've noticed that at least one emulator platform - Motorola iDEN - and possible also their phones - does not like (and fails to install) MIDlets with version tags that might be formatted as I have suggested here (ie, 0.5.1282 where 1282 is the build number.) Still, I think the build number capability would be valuable, and perhaps there should be an option to store it as a separate JAD attribute, perhaps as a variable for which the actual build number can be substituted at build time into the JAD attribute of the developer's choosing. |
