Could you provide me some informations about your environment (OS, JDK), and the stacktrace ?

Did you test it on the latest version of NetBeans 7.2 ? (RC1 or build 201207020907)
In order to exclude the case of an unstable version of NB 7.2.

Do you experience the same problem on NetBeans 7.1 ?

Updated the plugin to handle the error correctly (it may show that PMD found zero violations instead of throwing a NPE).

Since the PMD plugin has been deleted I close this bug as invalid.
