Actually, what would be even more useful is if it placed as many spaces after the '*' as there were on the previous line. i.e. support automatically indenting in comments to the same level as the previous line. I think we used to add space but some users complained that they need to press backspace to remove the space if they wish to close the comment by '*/'. But there could be an expert option for adding the space or not. Set target milestone to TBD Set target milestone to TBD *** Issue 24971 has been marked as a duplicate of this issue. *** This was recently changed to insert the space and I find myself to be one of those people who gets annoyed having to type backspace to close the comment with */ I am in favor of inserting the space as the original reporter recommended but we need to find a nicer way of getting Netbeans to close the comment without having to type backspace. Any ideas? Maybe if you type /<enter> on a line and nothing else it can be smart enough to interpret it as <backspace>/<enter>? Kinda like you can enter semicolon while the caret is inside brackets and Netbeans will push the semicolon to the end of the line. No good answers here :( Any chance of getting this into 6.5? It's very annoying to have to hit the backspace then the / to end the comment block. I'm sorry, but most likely not. We are after feature freeze and have a lot of more pressing defects to fix. |
