Description tomzi 2014-01-23 09:16:44 UTC
If I downloaded a plugin from http://plugins.netbeans.org and in the meanwhile there have been new releases from uploaded to http://plugins.netbeans.org Netbeans does not currently pick them up. Apparently Netbeans only checks updates if they occured via 'Update Centers'

Enhancement Request:
Please support, that if I downloaded a plugin via http://plugins.netbeans.org that Netbeans also checks http://plugins.netbeans.org for new releases, since they usually occur there a lot sooner before they occur on the Update Center (if ever)

Suggestion:
You could pack some sort of '<MyPlugin> Update Center' with the .nbm file that would be added to the 'List of Update Centers' in Netbeans. Through this Netbeans would also check new additions from the http://plugins.netbeans.org...

Thanks for your RFE. As a workaround you can add new Plugin Portal Experimental Update Center [1] in your Tools > Plugins > Settings which would then notify you about any addition or update of plugins.
