1) Right click on on palette
2) Selectable option called Show Alphabetically.
3) The the palette items are sorted alphabetical.

If the user wants to go back.

1) Right click on palette
2) Selectable option called Show Alphabetically (It has a check mark next to it
showing that it is currently on).
3) The palette ruturns to its current order.

there's an option to sort items alphabetically in palette's popup menu and 'reset palette' restores the original state
