Description Petr Dvorak 2008-12-04 19:23:40 UTC
Product Version: NetBeans IDE Dev (Build 081204)
Java: 1.6.0_10-rc; Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM 11.0-b13
System: Linux version 2.6.27-10-generic running on i386; UTF-8; en_US (nb)

When user tries to create project of certain type for the first time, he must wait until a "feature" is found. But it
might take up to 10 secs. Meanwhile, user does not get any response/explanation of what is happening - he/she just sees
an empty dialog entitled "Finding Feature". I think users won't understand what is happening and why.

I think some more responsive feedback should be offered (label "Please wait" + "1..2..3...1..2..3 dots", bouncing
progressbar, ...) just to let user know something is happening...

The progress bar was removed, then performance of finding feature was improved. Perhaps the build between these two actions was tested. Could you,
please, try some newer build and give me know? Thanks.

Product Version: NetBeans IDE Dev (Build ergonomics-#53-on-081207)
Java: 1.6.0_10-rc; Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM 11.0-b13
System: Linux version 2.6.27-10-generic running on i386; UTF-8; en_US (nb)

Performance has improved in above mentioned build, therefore this issue is no longer valid (one doesn't wait for more
than a second).
