Description rogerappl 2009-01-14 11:30:30 UTC
I downloaded the PortalPlugin 3.0 beta (for 6.5) and when I loaded the pack I cannot use any of the plugins.
The same issue was in the OpenOffice API 2.0.3

I understand that this is for compatability with previous versions - so is it possible that there is a setting for
this?

I looked at the error and found references to ruby debugger - but nothing else. I get the error when the NB starts up
as well - even though the modules are disabled.

Warning - could not install some modules: CMS FrameWork - The module named
org.netbeans.modules.editor.deprecated.pre61completion/0 was needed and not found. Portal Pack Common Palette Library -
The module named org.netbeans.modules.editor.deprecated.pre61completion/0 was needed and not found. Another module
could not be installed due to the above problems.

Product Version: NetBeans IDE Dev (Build 200901031401)
Java: 1.6.0_10; Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM 11.0-b15
System: Windows Vista version 6.0 running on amd64; Cp1252; en_US (nb)
Userdir: C:\Users\roger\.netbeans\dev
Comment 1 Lukas Hasik 2009-01-14 13:52:18 UTC
that's definitely problem of NB but the plugins
Comment 2 Jesse Glick 2009-01-14 17:08:52 UTC
IIRC this module was removed from the distribution. Probably the PP modules need to bundle their own copy of this
compatibility module.
Comment 3 rogerappl 2009-01-15 09:25:50 UTC
Can this be made into a plugin or a download that is available for those who need it now.

I do not want to go back to an old version (if this is even possible) and I need the portal plugin to work as well as
the Open Office plugin. To have the Plugin Makers rework their code or include the jar file seems inefficient and a
slow process. Although I belive the plugins will need to be revised to work with 6.5 and later without the backwards
compatability.
Comment 5 rogerappl 2009-01-17 06:47:11 UTC
Thanks, this solved the problems.

It was not possible to find this on the site easily. I would suggest that a link to this module be added to the nightly download site for those of us who are
stuck using some of the older plug-ins until the plugin makers can catch up.

The solution provided (the module link to the missing .nmb) works fine. Although there are several warnings in the
log - everything works fine. Thanks

I'm not sure where you got the PP or OO modules from, but these sites would need to provide the compatibility NBMs if
they wished to support users of NB 7.0 dev builds.

PLEASE HELP !!!

I was able to download the module itself using the link :

http://updates.netbeans.org/netbeans/updates/6.5/uc/final/stable/modules/ide10/org-netbeans-modules-editor-deprecated-pre61completion.nbm

But, whenever I try to install my IDENTITY MANAGER Plug-In, I still get the error message : " that module was needed,
and not found"

Is there a particular place or folder to which I must download and save that module?

At the moment, I am saving it on the "Netbeans>profiler3>modules" folder.

stokah - use Tools > Plugin Manager > Downloaded > Add Plugins to install NBMs. Post to nbusers@netbeans.org if you need
help.

Dear jglick,

I know HOW to download and install Plug-Ins on Netbeans. As I mentioned in my post, I've been fighting with this issue
for a while now. The problem is that : the Identity Managers IDE refuses to install because some module is missing (or
so it says).

What I need to know is how to solve this problem.

Can you post the message here and also attach <nb-userdir>/var/log/messages.log? Thanks

I don't see why would identity manager need org.netbeans.modules.editor.deprecated.pre61completion/0, because this
module provides absolutely no functionality. Maybe there are some obsolete dependencies in the identity modules that
need to be cleaned up.
Comment 12 Jesse Glick 2009-08-12 17:30:13 UTC
Most likely obsolete deps in the identity manager module. Where exactly did you get this module from? The bug needs to
be reported to the actual module author(s).
Comment 13 Michel Graciano 2009-08-21 15:48:13 UTC
This is mostly an issue at module and not in the IDE. To help to sovle it, module owner could take a look at this [1]
thread. I hope it could help.

Comment 14 Jiri Kovalsky 2009-10-15 10:29:19 UTC
I have tried to install Identity Manager IDE 8.1 plugin [1] together with "pre61completion.nbm" module [2] into my 6.7.1
and it worked just fine! I see new IDM menu item, I can create new Identity Manager Project etc.

In addition to that this is actually a duplicate of #174048 so marking it accordingly as #174048 has higher priority and
has some steps to reproduce.
