Well this is not always the case , it appears occasionally. Bug description : When you press alt + insert to invoke the "insert popup menu", the first items is chosen and highlighted, but when you press down arrow key to move downside, it opens the file menu or move the cursor in the editor. When alt+ insert triggered , the cursor should no longer has focus ,so that we can use arrow key to move in that popup menu. this is not always happen ,but it surely happen at least once every time I open Netbeans. Windows with jdk 6.11
Strange, probably a focus problem cause by your specific combination of OS/JDK. Let's see if more people complain about the same.
There is workaround to recall the alt+Insert action again.
I'm using Netbeans 6.9.1. Bug is still present. And it happens really often. java -version: java version "1.6.0_21" Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_21-b07) Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 17.0-b17, mixed mode, sharing)
OS: Windows XP SP3
Bug prior to 7.0, not touched for the last 2 years --> P4.
This old bug may not be relevant anymore. If you can still reproduce it in 8.2 development builds please reopen this issue. Thanks for your cooperation, NetBeans IDE 8.2 Release Boss
