I guess this task deserves higher priority :-)
Sounds like a good idea :-) I'll try to get a photo of it and put it up. Does anyone know where it is atm ?
OK, I took some pictures of the Golem, and Jan has done some Photoshop magic. There are a few options - I'll attach them all here, pls check them out and vote for the one you like the best. I'll put up the winner in a few days. BTW I'm not really sure where these imgs shoudl go, any suggestions ?

WOW! It really is ugly! I vote for v3. How about putting it on http://www.netbeans.org/about/index.html, perhaps with a tooltip that explains its purpose in life.
;) Really impressive. I wouldn't like having it on my desk. I vote v1, v2 and v3. I suggest appearing at dev downloads when it changes hands... or desk. And maybe create an Art Gallery and give it there a prominent location under the title 'Divine NetBeans Comedy', along with an explanation and current owner.
This got stalled. I'm not sure where the picture should go. Maybe linked from eg http://www.netbeans.org/community/guidelines/commit.html ? Tim, any suggestions? :-)
Perhaps this http://weblogs.java.net/blog/timboudreau/archive/2006/03/the_netbeans_go.html will help? But I like the idea of the golem inexplicably lurking at the bottom of http://www.netbeans.org/community/guidelines/commit.html
