[ BUILD # : 200509251800 ] [ JDK VERSION : 1.5.0_03 ] In the new options dialog, if you change the font in an editor, it cleanly propogates to all categories. But not if you change print font (which has to be done in Classic view as far as I can see). 1) Change editor font to 10pt. 2) Open classic view and change "IDE Config / System / Print Settings / Java" fonts and colors. 3) Change default to 8pt. 4) Scroll down the "Syntax:" list on the left; some are still 10pt. You need to check every single category for each editor to get this right.

In the future Netbeans won't have special fonts and colors for printing. We will simply reuse normal editor fonts and colors also for printing. It's not that uncommon to have a color printer nowadays and you may want to have nice colored printounts. The black & white printing is a usuall option offered by printer drivers, so we don't have to duplicate it in the IDE itself.
I disagree with this. I think the user should have the option to use different settings for printing, e.g. smaller font.
Well, maybe, I personally don't think it's that important. We definitely don't want to have anything as complex as normal editor & colors for printing. So, perhaps a simple font selection (global for all types of documents) could do. Thanks for your opinion.

Looks like this has been fixed, there are separate options for font inside print preview. --- Product Version: NetBeans IDE Dev (Build 20081015090813) Java: 1.6.0_07; Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM 1.6.0_07-b06-57 System: Mac OS X version 10.5.5 running on x86_64; MacRoman; en_US (nb)
