For 6.0 we want maven support at least as good as it was in previous
releases (at mvenide.codehaus.org). 
on AU in 6.0 timeframe.
upgrade APIs to 6.0 and generally polish  the feature set and align it with
latest trunk sounces

done in M6. since that time, it's on dev Aupdate center of 6.0 builds.
