NetBeans 4.0 Installation Sequence

The following sequence of images demonstrates the screens you will encounter while installing NetBeans 4.0 on a Windows XP computer. For other operating systems, the screen formatting may be different, but the content should be the same. If you have not yet downloaded a NetBeans IDE 4.0 installer, you can do so here.

I accepted the default values in each of these screens and in my case it took about 5 minutes to complete the installation sequence.

On the next screen, you are asked to specify an installed JDK to be used by NetBeans. In my case, only one JDK is installed, so the choice was simple. If you do not yet have an appropriate JDK installed on your computer, you can get one from Sun: 1.4.2 or 1.5
