If I add an xsl:param (or xsl:variable) to an XSL stylesheet, it's not available in the Design view.  User should
probably be forced to select the param's type explicitly (since it's impossible to calculate) prior to display in mapper.

This enhancement has priority due to recent enhancements to runtime and transformmap related to specification of
parameter values.
