I attempted to download the 6.0 platform binary at this address:

    http://download.netbeans.org/netbeans/6.0/final/zip/

and no such file was available.  The only platform product was a source archive, but you cannot even build this into a
binary without a lot more knowledge than any new user would have (see #124371 for details).

I am sorry but NetBeans Platform is no longer available as the binary or installator.
