The pluginportal-update-center.xml file has zero size and the plugin portal is impossible to use from inside the IDE via update center mechanism.

There was a problem with generation of the 
http://plugins.netbeans.org/nbpluginportal/files/nbms/pluginportal-update-center.xml file.  I fixed this.  However, the
Plugin Portal UC listed in NetBeans 6 IDE will be populated with verified plugins only.  The plugin portal is undergoing
changes at this moment to support this process and this feature should be available very soon.  If you wish to use the
UC described by http://plugins.netbeans.org/nbpluginportal/files/nbms/pluginportal-update-center.xml, please manually
add this to NetBeans IDE 6.
