I am already logged into Issue tracking system and I still get the username/password box. This should not happen

What is the status of this issue?
I'm sure this is a duplicate, but now I can't find it ... Collab, when I visit the login page, and am already logged in, I do not expect to see a login form. (BTW something odd with the attachment here, if I click it I see binary garbage in my browser, rather than the image, some MIME weirdness I guess).
Jack Thank you for contacting CollabNet Customer Support! Based on the information provided to us we will present you with an update as soon as we have adequate data. Thanks Sindhu Support Operations
Jack, I tried replicating your issue and was unsuccessful. Can you provide the steps you followed that gave you the error. Thanks, Arjun GM Support Operations
Steps to reproduce: 1. Visit http://www.netbeans.org/community/index.html 2. login using the login box on top right corner 3. Click <submit bugs and feature requests> http://www.netbeans.org/community/issues.html 4. You see the login box again on the top right corner even though I am logged in!! <Attachment updated>

After multiple tries, I was able to hit on what was causing the issue. This issue is browser related & will never occur consistently because it depends on the user preferences set in the browser. For example: In firefox, When you clear cookies & start again, it would hit upon this issue. But when it is tried for the second time it will not be replicable.(preferably if cookies & cache are enabled) In Opera, When you login to netbeans.org for the first time, it would ask for saving the passwords. If saved, this issue will not be replicable. Here cache/cookies should be enabled Hence this issue is purely based on the user settings in the browser & vary from setting to setting. As always, please feel free to contact us if you have any clarifications in the above stated. Regards, Ramya Support Operations

It is not a browser issue. It is reproducible at will in any browser. I have attached Internet Explorer screen shot.
I still do not face an issue in IE. Please check the Tools-> Internet Options settings.I am not logged off from the screen. Attaching the screenshot

How do you track a user and how do you know if I am logged in? Maybe I am help with this. What settings should I check? I can reproduce it in multiple browsers
ejvyas, the first screenshot you attached is from the TLogin page, at http://www.netbeans.org/TLogin. However the steps you describe in #desc7 should not involve the TLogin page. Can you clarify ? a) After logging in on http://www.netbeans.org/community/index.html, what URL do you land on (pls copy-paste the full URL). If it is the community page, does the login box now show you are logged in ? b) After logging in, what happens if you try to visit your StartPage : http://www.netbeans.org/servlets/StartPage ? My first comment here, in #desc4, is about that TLogin page : "Collab, when I visit the login page, and am already logged in, I do not expect to see a login form". I do consider that a bug, but it looks like we're talking about something else entirely different now.
jcatchpoole, I think you are confused. I do not know what is TLogin (http://www.netbeans.org/TLogin) That url does not work for me. Just follow the my steps and you will see that the login box appears. Do you have multiple logins in netbeans site? Steps to reproduce: 1. Visit http://www.netbeans.org/community/index.html 2. login using the login box on top right corner 3. Click <submit bugs and feature requests> http://www.netbeans.org/community/issues.html 4. You see the login box again on the top right corner even though I am logged in!!
Heh, I am confused, but only about your conflicting reports :-) Pls check the first screenshot you attached to this issue : http://www.netbeans.org/nonav/issues/showattachment.cgi/55408/Login%20when%20logged%20in.jpg As I reported earlier this shows garbage in my screen, but if I -> save as and then view, it works. The URL shown in your screenshot is http://www.netbeans.org/servlets/TLogin. How did you get there ? > Just follow the my steps I did, and I do not land on servlets/TLogin at any time; > and you will see that the login box appears No, I don't; > Do you have multiple logins in netbeans site? Yes. Pls answer the a/b questions I asked, thanks.
Please ignore the TLogin thing. I do not know how netbeans redirected me there! a) After logging in I am redirected to http://www.netbeans.org/community/index.html with logged in status and no login box b) I have attached the StartPage I do know how I ended in the TLogin page but the series of steps present a similar issue

Whenever you are logged in , login screen does not appear & this works as required according to your screenshot. As I have already provided the detailed steps in desc9 & it is localized to the browser settings, I am closing the issue as Worksforme. Jack, Kindly direct the user to have the browser settings intact, so that he would not face the issue in future. Regards, Ramya Support Operations
This still does not work.
Can you try shift + reload in the browser after reaching step 4 (or) after each step mentioned above?Let me know if you face the issue.
Does not take the log in link away. How is this implemented? There are some issues as I can see. I have tried it on multiple boxes with default browser configuration.
I am not sure if this would help you, however check issue 84866 where you might find answers for this type of behavior.
Jack, Could you please guide the user on this ticket, since I feel it is user defined browser settings & it worksforme. Regards, Ramya
I have tried it on multiple browser and even on multiple systems without any browser configuration. Looks like the testers have some browser settings customized.

If it works you may close it but INVALID is certainly not the correct status!
