Description Peter Lam 2008-02-06 01:59:42 UTC
Getting a popup menu to show that the Operations menu item enable is only by chance along the message line. Not sure
where the best point is to get this menu item enabled.

- create two lifelines and name them with names and classifiers
- create message between the lifelines
- right click on the message
Comment 1 Sergey Petrov 2008-02-06 06:40:55 UTC
reassigning to general diagram, the issue is similar to issue for right click on ot preliminary selected class,
class is selected but Create Attribute etc actions are disabled, if this issue will be fixed the issue with operations
should go away too
for now the only workaround is to select message by left click before right click, if right click was first message
behave a bit more worst then a class, but I still think it should be fixed in general diagram, but I may look also if I
can do anything to have the same as in class behavior
Comment 2 Trey Spiva 2008-02-06 14:27:59 UTC
The graph library select action should be able to handle the selection of the element when the user right clicks. That way we do not have to have special
logic. We have tried special logic in the past, but it was to fragile.
Comment 3 Sergey Petrov 2008-02-08 06:56:51 UTC
Trey, did you file graph library issue?
Comment 4 Sergey Petrov 2008-02-08 06:57:42 UTC
sorry, see it in depends on section
Comment 5 Sergey Petrov 2008-02-08 06:59:30 UTC
P2, easy workaround: select message first
Comment 6 Peter Lam 2008-02-11 20:17:37 UTC
It's not an easy workaround at all. I did select the message first but still could not get the Operation menu item to
display enabled. I have tried it along the line from left to right for the 5-inch long lines on different lines. It's a
highly visible usability issue.
Comment 7 Sergey Petrov 2008-02-11 21:00:55 UTC
Either I can't reproduce it (just tried again and got Operations in any point of a message) or you make right click
first, then left click to select and again right click, this scenario will not work.
you need to select not selected message first by left click and use context menu on next step.
May you have some additional steps? What os/java do you use?

Trey, can you reproduce the issue with first selected message? (do not forget to specify classifier for target lifeline)
Comment 8 Peter Lam 2008-02-11 21:25:05 UTC
well, I did select the link with the left mouse button first, and then right click on it to get the popup menu. I'm this
system.

I'll check with jdk6, may be it have sense or there is some change in netbeans, I'm still using 0117 base, but If I
remember right latest changes in cvs was on 070125 so it shouldn't be really different, but will try too, you can return
it back to P1 if you wish
Comment 10 Sergey Petrov 2008-02-15 15:32:19 UTC
reassigning, need to wait for 126529 resolution in drawing area or common implementation in uml
Comment 12 Peter Lam 2008-05-09 23:42:52 UTC
verified in build 20080508
