Description Jason Rush 2001-08-08 22:56:43 UTC
This is being seen in the FFJ 3.0 FCS RC1 build on Windows 98.

Very frequently edits to my browser objects in the Web Browser registry are not
taking affect. Even though the edits are shown in the IDE, they are not used
and they are lost when shutting down the IDE. For example, I can consistently
reproduce the following scenario:

1. Start the IDE fresh.
2. Change the External Browser (Windows) object to have the DDE server set to
"NETSCAPE" and set the executable browser to Netscape.
3. Ctrl-7 brings up the web browser ... brings up Netscape 4.7x.
4. Change the External Browser (Windows) object to have the DDE server set to
"IEXPLORE" and set the executable browser to Internet Explorer.
5. Ctrl-7 ... still brings up Netscape 4.7x instead of bringing up Internet
Explorer.
6. Restart the IDE.
7. Look at the External Browser (Windows) object and see that it is set to the
settings from step 2 instead of the settings from step 4.

Note: I am seeing this intermittently on all platforms, but most
frequently on Windows platforms. It seems to happen only after a
second edit to a browser object.

I don't think this is a showstopper as I wouldn't expect users to be
editing browser objects frequently.

This seems to be fixed in trunk (changes in property sheet, settings
and instance data object)
Comment 3 Jason Rush 2001-11-27 10:39:04 UTC
Verified in Build 200111260100.
