Description emmanuel 2001-08-27 22:01:50 UTC
Q-build candidate 200108240715.

Whilst debugging, with 'Attach VM', then to stop debugger, Alt+D F is greyed
out so I cannot stop the debugger running other than stopping the server - then
I get a program error.

Could this be attended to please.

Kind regards
Emmanuel

I can not reproduce this bug. Can you describe what does it mean 'to
stop debugger'? Can you attach output text with program error, ide.log
and info about your JDK version, please? Do you use JPDA debugger or
JDK1.1 debugger impl.? Do you use SocketAttach or SharedMemory? Thanks.

Hello Jan,

I'm not at my PC at this time, so for now, I'll provide as much
feedback as I can.

>Can you describe what does it mean 'to stop debugger'?
To do this I usually enter Alt+D for debugger menu, then "F"
to 'finish' debugging.

>Can you attach output text with program error, ide.log
Will do when at my PC. I'm currently at work.

>your JDK version,
JDK1.3

>Do you use JPDA debugger or JDK1.1 debugger impl.?
JPDA

>Do you use SocketAttach or SharedMemory?
not sure, second available option!

Will provide rest of info later on today.

BTW could this be related to #14834?

Kind regards
Emmanuel

With 200108240715-qbe2, this works fine until I do something which
affects this feature. I'm in the process of finding what exactly
creates this side effect. Will post my findings once I have the
exact pattern.

BTW, I suspect 0824 probably also works fine - I probably hit the
condition sooner which caused the side effect immediately.

Kind regards
Emmanuel

I'm more or less convinved this occurs as a result of 14834.

I'd like to have a look at this again after 14834 is attended to,
that's if it can be found.

Kind regards
Emmanuel
