The fonts and Colors section in the basic Options Window has a preview, a class Called JavaExample. This class is not editable and does not show all the color combinations applicable. I think it should be editable so we could write a class that reflects what we're evaluating and trying to change. Maybe by presing Alt and clicking in an element it can be found in the list as it works now with the JavaExample class. The different options for highlighting should also be shown in the example providing an easy way to configure that too... Now, for example, I'm having trouble to configure how the occurrences of a selected element are shown -highlighted- in the text editor (for example after clicking on a method variable, all the occurrences/uses of that variable are highlighted). I read different posts at the Netbeans Users forum linking to this problem, and I think it's worth solving it to improve the user experience with the IDE. Thanks
Sorry, now I know why I was having a lot of trouble configuring the colors of the IDE. The options are already there, but when a color that is inherited by a component is modified, this change is not reflected by the square that contains the color next to the "inherited..." label. After confirming the change, if I return to the IDE i can see the changes in the component, but if I go back to Options->Fonts&Colors the inherited color is not properly shown in the component that inherits it.
Can you please try it in 6.5. I cannot reproduce it. Thanks
The issues mentioned here have already been filed in different reports, eg: issue #155964 - Make Preview panels editable!! issue #149902 - [Fonts & Colors] Semantic coloring does not work in the preview issue #156516 - difficult to discover controls for mustard color of Mark Occurrences feature So I am closing this as a duplicate of #155964. Thanks for the report. *** This issue has been marked as a duplicate of 155964 ***
