What behavior do you expect?
Comment 3 Michael Nazarov 2009-07-16 13:36:02 UTC
I expect good looking logos regardless of window size.
Comment 4 Yulia Novozhilova 2009-07-16 13:49:13 UTC
Could you, please, explain what is good looking in case if the window is narrow? I can not imagine another behavior even
if not to mention that installer uses pure java for resizing.
Comment 5 Michael Nazarov 2009-07-16 13:53:25 UTC
I just file issues, you provide solutions, so answer for your question is your work :)
Who said it's easy to create nice sizable window?
Comment 6 Yulia Novozhilova 2009-07-16 14:06:58 UTC
Michael, I can provide a solution when I understand the problem and the target. I don't understand what you want to see.
Anyway for me there are two choices either to fix the window's size and don't allow to resize it or the current
behavior. I can't fix non-existent issue. In this case I have to admit I don't see better solution for the picture
resize then java suggests.

Logos should not be corrupted -- this is very simple rule and this is goal.
You can see issue on attached screeshot. I believe there is person who
provided design for you, so you can consult with.

Note that the background stretches just fine -- no serious artifacts are there. The logos, on the other hand should not
scale at all, right.. So there should in fact be three image: the yellowish background and the java/sun logos, which
should be painted on top of it.

Curious, what would happen in the window size is decreased? Will the overflowing image data be hidden, or the image will
scale as well?
Comment 9 Yulia Novozhilova 2009-07-16 16:16:00 UTC
I guess It can sort out the problem partially since such behavior is currently implemented in the common NetBeans
installers. But background is different there. So I think there will be a problem if window size is very small (and one
more bug from Michael). Need to check. And the logos should be repainted on transparent background. I'll see what I can
do as soon as I have some time.

Yes, common NB installer works just fine and doesn't scale NB logo.

Afaik will be fixed in 6.9 with the new branding (Oracle-like) images. Yulia please mark as fixed when it is done.
