With more than one docked editor window open in split views: 1. the cursor blinks in all windows 2. the current line is highlighted in all windows 3. hint highlighting is displayed in all windows Further, other than the extremely subtle blue tint at the top of the tab label, there is no readily observable visual distinction between the focus window and other windows. All this boils down to frequent instances of text landing in an unexpected place upon typing. Ideally, the cursor would only blink in a window that has focus. As a work-around, some less subtle visual cues would be useful. Could non-focus windows have a distinctive background color (light gray, e.g.)? Maybe turn off or dim the gutter decorations or make all text gray instead of syntax colored? Un-docked editor windows behave better (the window's title bar has distinctive appearance, and the cursor vanishes when the window doesn't have focus). But, when editing in an un-docked window, the application menu bar goes away (the bug on the vanishing menu bar behavior has been flagged wontfix).
