For example, add a named query to orm.xml and use it from junit test. Run test. The query is not found. Do a clean build
and then it is found. Compile on save is set for the project.

compile-save as I know works for java classes only. looks like enehancment request to enable compile on safe for orm.xml
and may be another xml files.
do you know any similar cases which trigger rebuilding?

but changes in web.xml trigger redeployment, need more investigation. thanks

I didn't mean to ask for compile on save for orm.xml. I just mentioned that my project is configured that way, in case
there is some interaction and that might be why it isn't working. Not an enhancement request, I think it is a defect if
I hit the run button and my recent edits are not included.

Next time I get a chance I'll try turning off compile on save and see if it affects the results.

on other side there is clean-build action so it may expected some changes require this action, but anyway let it be
defect before deeper evaluation or fix.

according to 217556 there was no support for clean/build by default also.
in general it means as mentioned above almost no support for orm.xml from nb and as it's just one of unhandled custom file it's required to have full build for now. so turn into enhancement. or/and may be main unbrella need to be filed for orm.xml support.

This old bug may not be relevant anymore. If you can still reproduce it in 8.2 development builds please reopen this issue.
