Description David-john Burrowes 2001-11-14 00:00:40 UTC
When the user starts a build, no feedback (such as a cursor change) is initially given to indicate that the IDE has started the build process
Comment 1 Jan Zajicek 2001-11-20 10:24:01 UTC
Moving to Core.
Comment 2 Jan Zajicek 2001-11-20 10:26:05 UTC
Ops, openide, of course.
Comment 3 Jan Zajicek 2001-11-20 10:31:25 UTC
Updating subcomponent.

Note that there is a feedback on the status line: Looking for
objects... Compiling... Finished...

Do you mean something more visible? Note, that cursor change will not
be good solution, because when building large packages, you can
continue with your work with ide.

It will be good to start discussion on nbui mailing list about this.
Comment 4 David-john Burrowes 2001-11-21 19:38:00 UTC
I suppose I was thinking using one of those combination cursors (one with both an hour glass and a pointer at the same
time)

But, you are right. This would be good to take to nbui.
Comment 5 _ ttran 2001-11-22 15:51:36 UTC
closing this one as invalid. This is by no means a DEFECT. When
people finish the discussion on nbui, someone can make a summary and
file an ENHANCEMENT issue.
Comment 6 Chris Ledantec 2002-04-08 14:54:45 UTC
the proposed solution for this problem may indeed end up being an
enhancement, but the original problem is bay all means a defect. it's
a ui defect that fails to give adequate notice to the user during a
compilation.

and you can see the status spec for details on how the the fix.
