when switching to the explorer with the keyboard, initial focus is on the tabs at the bottom of the window. expected behavior is that focus should be on the currently active tab in the explorer.
Closing as wontfix. I think the right behaviour should be this: The focus set to that component it was focused last time. I.e. if you had focused in explorer tab, switched away from explorer and then swithced back, should be focused the same tab. If you have focused some node, after switching back to the explorer should be focused that node. Please reopen if I'm wrong, or if it doesn't work that way.
clearly, if focus always goes to the tab then this does not work as you describe. and yes, i agree that focus should be returned to the last focused item, and if there is no such previous item then it should go to the top of whichever component is visible (exlporer, runtime, etc.)
I am closing this as WONTFIX. There are opposing views on where focus should be set when you are switching tabs. None is ideal. I suggest whoever not satisfied with the current behavior to go to nbui mailing list and discuss the issue first. When an exhaustive conclusion is reached then we'll implement it, or bug the Swing team to change the default behavior of Swing.
