It should be a option to set default platform, both for Java an Netbeans. It can make things easier when using projects in different NetBeans versions. e.g my case: I´m using both NB6.8 and 6.9dev, but always using the 6.8 platform for developing (until 6.9 gets to stable). When switching from one version to another, I need to change the suite's platform before do anything else. Had I set NB 6.8 as default platform, no matter which version I use, default platform will be the same.
