Description aquaglia 2010-11-22 13:35:51 UTC
[ JDK VERSION : 1.7 ]

I have installed NB 7.0 BETA FULL in my production development environment (XP
SP3) this morning and after a few minutes of the usual work it becomes
unresponsive.
After switching to another application I cannot switch back.
It is unusable for me.
How can I diagnose this further?
Comment 1 David Strupl 2010-11-22 14:51:09 UTC
Hello,

please have a look at

http://wiki.netbeans.org/GenerateThreadDump

and attach the thread dump to this report (in section attachments). Also please mark the report is REOPENED after adding the additional files.

Br, David

Dump

It hangs just after opening any xml file (pom.xml, web.xml).
I have attached the trace.
It is extremely annoying.
Thanks,
Angelo

this is a part of your log file, not a thread-dump ;(

Anyway it might be duplicate of issue 191796
Comment 4 aquaglia 2010-11-26 11:17:21 UTC
Reproduced also in build 201011230001
I would like to attach the thread-dump but with Windows the console closes automatically after ctrl-breaking.
I will try with powershell...

Thread dump

Finally managed to get the thread dump, generated with the latest nightly build, 2010011290001

Please not that the system is completely unusable after opening any xml file.
Comment 6 aquaglia 2010-11-29 12:54:47 UTC
bug191796 says the fix would be available in build *201011190001* but since I still have the problem it was not the same issue.
Comment 7 aquaglia 2010-11-30 09:01:33 UTC
Problem is still there in build 201011300001.

Thread dump for build 201012050001

The problem is still there also with last night build 201012050001.
A few seconds after starting up completely and after a couple of clicks it hangs and I cannot regain control.
Please have a look at this.
Comment 9 aquaglia 2010-12-05 15:32:44 UTC
Since I am unable to use any recent build I set this to P1.
Comment 10 aquaglia 2010-12-06 13:08:22 UTC
This is really critical for me.
Could you please give me some help?
Comment 11 Tomas Stupka 2010-12-06 13:27:45 UTC
i was just able to reproduce, but only with 1.7 - (actually, the build was b120)
jdk 1.6.x worked fine for me

one more threaddump

as mentioned - was able to reproduce without any relation to taskslists - editor seems to be involved. reassignig for further evaluation
Comment 13 David Strupl 2010-12-06 17:08:49 UTC
This shoudl be fixed by
http://hg.netbeans.org/jet-main/rev/3421b69fcba2
Comment 14 aquaglia 2010-12-07 11:29:55 UTC
Yes, it's fixed, many thanks!
I am using build 20101205001.

NB still freezes but only when I open an xml file.
I will log a new bug for that issue.
Comment 15 David Strupl 2010-12-09 16:04:49 UTC
I am not sure whether this change should be applied for 6.9.x. I am putting the keyword there just in case and someone has to evaluate whether it should be applied or not.
Comment 16 Marian Mirilovic 2011-02-28 08:34:08 UTC
no more 69 patches on the plan
