this is because it is not possible self-close div as the validation says: Self-closing syntax ("/>") used on a non-void HTML element. Ignoring the slash and treating as a start tag. From line 15, column 13; to line 15, column 18 I admit the parse tree could still be as you mentioned, I'll take a look later
