I can't reproduce in my environment:

  Product Version         = NetBeans IDE 7.2.1 (Build 201210100934) (#a183c5e41a19)
  Operating System        = Linux version 3.2.0-35-generic-pae running on i386
  Java; VM; Vendor        = 1.6.0_37; Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM 20.12-b01; Sun Microsystems Inc.
  Runtime                 = Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment 1.6.0_37-b06

Are there error messages, dialog, e.t.c?

I cannot reproduce it either.

Plugin installation was done on the 7.2 version (not 7.2.1) and a long error message stating that many modules could not be installed showed up during IDE start. 

Seems like an exact duplicate of http://netbeans.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=218373
