Wrong file structure in the navigator panel

Working on a Java web application, I have a Spring servlet configuration file open. Initially the Navigator displays the correct structure. Then, after a pause of sometimes as little as a couple of seconds and sometimes longer (but it seems to be no more than 30 seconds on any given occasion), the structure displayed in the Navigator panel changes to that from a different file (with a different name in a different [closed] project). The file name at the top of the Navigator panel does not change. The displayed file structure will then change again, seemingly at random but never back to the correct file as far as I can determine.

Screen shot is attached showing the sole file open in the editor, the single project and the unconnected, wrong file structure being displayed in the Navigator panel

That is really strange issue. Do you have any reproduction scenario? It would be hard to figure out anything without a way to reproduce it.

Please reopen ASA a reproduction scenario is provided.
