I'm working for Microchip and focus on tools. Our main IDE "MPLABX" is based on Netbeans-8.1 and one of our customers found a strange issue, that we likely inherit from Netbeans. The problem is that if files don't have a timestamp as shown in the attached pic1 "netbeans_err_noTimestamp1.pdf" you will find problems like:
a) when you try to open such a file with a non-existing timestamp, the source-code window just stays empty and you cannot do anything (see 2.attachement "netbeans_err_noTimestamp2.pdf")
b) variable referenced can't be traced anymore

As far as I found this issue has not been reported before, hence this is a new not dublicated issue.
