Description Miloslav Metelka 2002-08-26 18:48:46 UTC
This issue covers the changes in editor necessary
for migration to the new options.

1) Additionaly there will be "Show editor toolbar"
global property under the current "Editor" node.

2) There is a huge number of expert properties
(currently shown under the Expert tab in the
properties for the particular editor).
They will be shown in the "Advanced options".

3) Color property editor should allow the alpha
channel to be specified. This is something the
editor already supports and I guess only editor
can benefit from it. Not sure whether there should
be one common color property editor or whether
there should be a specialized one for the editor
colors.

4) Antialiasing and fractional metrics options
will be added. This is something that should
appear in NB4.0

5) Inheritance of fonts and colors. In the current
Fonts&Colors you can choose the "Inherit" checkbox
to inherit the color/font from the default coloring.
The new options will offer the "Default" to be
used to inherit the font/color

6) Token colorings; the current plan assumes that
Under "Display Items" in the "Fonts and Colors"
there will be e.g. JSP: Tag, Java: Keyword, HTML:
comment etc. However there can be hundreds of
tokens so the plain listbox can become hardly
manageable.

Additionally the Macro editing panel will contain the additional
column for the keybinding. Although the macro can have more than one
keybinding there is almost always just one so it will be more
appropriate for the user who will (thank to this) see the shortcuts
for all the displayed macros immediately.
