I execute NetBeans using --javahome /home/username --nospacecheck
I go through all the steps of customizing until hitting the button "install"
it loads for 5%, and then it stops and sends me an error message:
installation of *list of packages* was not completed
Try to run installer again or consult the installation log file for more details :
root/.nbi/log/20160922210823.log
this same thing happens with every NetBean that I install, for All, Java, C/C++, etc.
I tried entering 20160922210823.log, and its a LONG file, and I didn't understand much of if. It said a lot about Parsing, but then the final messages turned to Deleting. The only interesting messages I found were these:
    use Java that is already selected for the product: /home/etienne/jdk1.8.0_101
    to parse Failed to download inst[2016-09-22 21:16:56.156]:         entering -- org.netbeans.installer.wizard.components.actions.FinalizeRegistryAction.execute():66
