Hello, Yesterday I installed the new NetBeans 8.2 from platform independent zip on my NVIDIA's Jetson-TK1 (ARM CPU NVidia K1, Quad core, 2 GHz, 2 GB RAM) under Ubuntu Linux 16.04 (with OpenJDK 8.x). It is very, very slow... NetBeans 8.1 was much faster! What can I do to make it faster? Kind Regards Michael
Can you please provide us with some concrete measurements? We cannot fix vague bugs like this. What does it mean "very slow"?
Hello Tomas, I found the reason: netbeans 8.2 is very slow with openjdk/jre 8.x. The performance is OK when i use oracles jdk/jre 8.x! Kind Regards, Michael
OK, thanks for info.
Hi, after the last oracle JDK8 update, Netbeans 8.2 is very slow again. Netbeans is not really usable anymore. Are there settings or other things I can do to speed things up again ? My System: CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3770 CPU @ 3.40GHz Memory: 16GB OS: Debian Linux 8.9 / Java Version: java version "1.8.0_144" Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.8.0_144-b01) Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 25.144-b01, mixed mode) Ciao Matthias
Very slow here as well when using the Darcula or Norway today Font&Color profile, and when choosing he Darcula look and feel: inserting a single character can take half a second, scrolling with the scroll-wheel is sluggish, everything in the code editor is very slow. Using Oracle java 1.8.0_45 on a Linux 64bit system (Ubuntu 17.04). The Java process for Netbeans uses 280M out of 1G. Things appear to get faster when using Dark Nimbus look and feel and the Netbeans profile. So one reason for this could be the combination of look and feel and/or appearance settings, I did not try to figure out exactly what it is.
