Created attachment 163688 [details] The contents of the Server JRE directory When using the "Server JRE" download (http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/index.html) NetBeans will start using that JDK and everything works (editing, compiling, running, debugging, profiling). However in the "Java Platform Manager" dialog, NetBeans show for the default JDK that "Error: The specified folder does not contain a Java platform" (despite the fact that everything is working). When trying to add the folder of a server JRE as a platform manually, NetBeans claims, that "Cannot detect and install the selected platform. The java or javac may not be executable" but a JAVA_HOME\bin\java.exe and JAVA_HOME\bin\javac.exe are both present and executable. I think NetBeans is looking for the wrong files in that directory. I have attached the tree output for the directory where the Server JRE was extracted to.
