Under NB3.6, I could easily mount ANY directory, even directory having nothing to do with JAVA. Like directories containing HTML files, or XML Files. Under NB4.0, I am now obliged to create Java projects. Or I can use the ALL Files View to edit everything. But the problem of ALL Files View is that it's a piti when you want to work in a directory like F:/My Data/NetBeans/LastTrunk/testwww/www/community/articles/interviews/ It's too long. It's true that I can Right Click and select Explore From Here. But Each time I do that, a new windows is opened. I propose that each time I select Explore Frome Here, it add the directory as a new entry in the Favorite View. It would facilitate life for people like me who are working in different directories at same times .
Not in planned UI. Could be implemented as a separate module, maybe. Jan Lahoda seems to have something called contrib/nexplorer (in CVS) which might fulfill this kind of role in the future, but I don't really know anything about it.
FYI: I asked Yarda to produce a proof of concept impl. Should be available as a separate module some time next week
In CVS; haven't tried it yet.
Jesse, you should have told me that there is contrib/workspace... I think I duplicated its behaviour.
contrib/workspace is a bit different although there is some overlap... probably any unique functionality of c/workspace (reorderability? I don't know) should be merged into c/favourites (*). (*) Note: British spelling, American is "favorites".
This issue was solved long time ago. Because nobody has reopened it neither added comments, we are verifying/closing it now. If you are still able to reproduce the problem, please reopen. Thanks in advance.
