[ JDK VERSION : 1.4.2_xx ]

After a fresh install (including wiping out my ~/.netbeans/dev directory) of NB 5, I went to Tools->Options.  Immediately I received an Information dialog which read 'Negative value is not allowed'.  Build 200509221800

I no longer see this problem.
