There are two oddities when the Options dialog is first opened.

To reproduce:

start NB 5.0Beta on MacOS X 10.4.2
wait for startup
type Command-, (Options)
(odd transient effect:  a pop-up complaint about a negative index)
mouse Keymaps
(odd transient state:  The scrolling list says "colors, food, sports" briefly, then fills with "Edit", etc.
