Description jfosterjr 2006-01-20 14:36:08 UTC
The Java Editor seems to ignore the General Indentation Settings. For example
setting the "Number of Spaces per Indent" property to "4" in the General
Indentation Settings and then setting the "Tab Size" property to "8" under
Advanced Options -> Editing -> Editor Settings -> Java Editor will result in the
Java Editor always using "8" spaces to represent one tab indent. This may just
be the result of my lack of understanding of the relationship b/n the General
settings and the Advanced settings for a specific editor.

Yes, the indentation settings are defintely confusing. The "Number of Spaces per
Indent" is not the same as "Tab Size" under "Advanced Options -> Editing ->
Editor Settings -> Java Editor". Have a look at issue 71545.
