Since upgrading to nb 5 the VCS wants to add every new file to CVS. There is no intuitive way to disable this "feature" (in my opinion it's a very critical bug). the same problem occurs with semi-auto removes from cvs. also it is not a 100% compatible cvs implementation. if you want to setup a readonly repository file to r/w (edit), there is no practicable way. the ide should respect programmer needs and should not patronize the user - especially on ide upgrades. so, where can i disable the incomplete and errornous cvs implementation? an auto-add feature is a nice add-on, but an auto-remove feature is a desaster. and where are the missing cvs features from 4.x (edit, diff, and so on)? please call it "sun versioning" or "netbeans versioning" BUT NOT Java CVS - because it's not a compatible CVS implementation!
Well, it integrates CVS with typical NetBeans IDE workflow. It fails for other workflows, we trace it as enhancements. Anyway, you can use previous implementation if it suits you better, it's on NetBeans Auto Update center.
Auto-remove is there to ease your life just like auto-add. We'll think if it's a good idea to even put an option to NOT automatically perform remove, scheduling for future.
