Description Jaromir Uhrik 2006-04-14 09:40:08 UTC
NetBeans IDE Dev (Build 200604131800)
1.5.0_07; Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM 1.5.0_07-b02
Windows XP version 5.1 running on x86
-------------------------------------
I started NetBeans and the startpage appeared with the status captured and
attached as .png. The strange thing is that there is ARTICLES & NEWS category
loaded correctly but BLOGS category shows that "Cannot connest to internet".
When I push the "Proxy Configuration" button and then push "OK", the BLOGS
content is loaded correctly then.

It is relates to the installation of JDK which I processed before the NetBeans
start. While start of NetBeans the Symantec firewall asked me to permit java.exe
access the Internet. So I agreed with "always permit". Then IDE started. And
the described issue is reproducible this way.
Comment 3 Stanislav Aubrecht 2006-04-14 09:55:24 UTC
the blogs sections loads from planetnetbeans.org which may have been down at the
moment (or something like that). updating proxy settings forced the feed to
reload its content
Comment 4 Stanislav Aubrecht 2006-04-14 09:59:49 UTC
i see. so the first connection to planetnetbeans.org is blocked out by the
firewall so it shows the proxy settings button. while the second connection from
the articles feed is already authorized so it loads ok.
i'll add some repeated connection attempts. thanks for reporting it.
