This Bugzilla instance is a read-only archive of historic NetBeans bug reports. To report a bug in NetBeans please follow the project's instructions for reporting issues.
To reproduce: open a schema in the Design view of the XML schema editor. Right-click and notice that the Delete option is not enabled. Now click around in the palette and then select the component again: now the Delete option is enabled. Delete key always works.
I am debugging this issue (in Netbeans area). If I am not able to find out the root cause/fix, I will file for a waiver (or reduce priority) and possible an RN as this bug will happen only during the following case: * open a schema make sure to switch to design view. * close the IDE (not closing the opened files) * start IDE again. * IDE will automatically open last opened files and show DV. * now go and right click on DV components, you will see delete action will not be enabled. * click anywhere else (property sheet/palette/file/navigator) come back and right click on DV components delete will be enabled! All the use case other than above, delete item will be enabled all the time. Delete key always works as expected.
I am lowering the priority to P4 as this bug is not common and hight impact. The root cause may be due to a NB issue 68765.
Moved to 5.5.1
will be fixed for FCS.
Fixed long time ago
This issue has been fixed, VERIFIED in build NetBeans IDE Dev (Build 200709260000).
OOps! as Sam pointed out to me, you have to disable the NB startup page for this to happen. If in fact you choose not to have the Start Up page show (via the check box at the bottom start up page) this is reproducible. Reopening it because of this.
Surprising, seems like this is not an issue anymore :). Please verify.
Not reproducible for me, not depending on startup page. Marking as verified.
