Jconn3.jar is the native java connection distributed by Sybase and it works fine in NetBeans 5.5. Even though, NetBeans 5.5 is not able to bind data with controls . I tried DataDirect's driver too, but it was not able to connect with database.

Thanks for the report. First, note that Sybase is not a supported driver for Visual Web Pack. It should still work, assuming it's JDBC 3.0-compliant. Something is going wrong when a datasource is created, although I haven't been able to track down exactly what. Many of the vendor-supplied drivers do not fully implement the JDBC specification, which may be the case here. The DataDirect drivers should work fine, and have been tested. If there is a problem with them, please file a separate bug with information about the problem. BTW, the jTDS drivers also work with Sybase: http://jtds.sourceforge.net I'll change this to an Enhancement, and leave it open, to be considered for a future version.
