Description Petr Jiricka 2007-03-02 22:46:40 UTC
The current set of categories in the live plugin portal needs to be revised:

1/ 'Distributed Application Support' is probably meaningless to most people and
should be deleted.
2/ 'Graphical User Interface (GUI) Development Tools' is too long, in the list
view it overflows the column width to the next row.
3/ J2EE should be changed to Java EE.
4/ MDR probably does not deserve its own category.
5/ Remote development probably does not either.
6/ The difference between Editor and Editing is not apparent - do we need both?
7/ The difference between Java Code and Java Tools is not apparent - do we need
both?
8/ Categories have inconsistent naming, some have 'Tools' in the name, some have
'Support', some have neither.

etc. When I see the list of categories in the Add Plugin wizard, I think the
list will need to be revised even much more. Currently there are too many
categories, I think there should be at most 15 categories.

I revised the list and its new version is available since Plugin Portal 2.0.
