Original status: 3-Accepted; Suggested Status: NEW Original Target Release: mako_dev; Suggested Target Milestone : Dev These items should be added to the Keywords: I18N These items should be added to the Status Whiteboard: WAV_APPROVED Description: Quote from Dick Wall email: When painting the GUI I am working on at present, I am using the internationalization features (which are really nice) for the UI text areas, button labels, etc. However I have a request, when I use internationalization properties files, I get either generic text or even empty labels in the UI. It would make the design and layout a lot easier if one of the following two options were available: 1. Either Creator parses out the default properties file referenced and used the labels defined in there for displaying the screen preview, or 2. Have an extra property for such fields that is a "fake" label or text value which is displayed in the screen preview Again I am not sure I have explained this very well, if it is confusing please let me know and I will give describing it another go, but the upshot would be that you can still use bindings from resource bundles to do the internationalization, but also be able to see a representation of the values which the user will see when designing the screen. xxx@xxxx 2004-12-15 18:50:02 GMT Evaluation: Defer until post-Thresher, in conjunction with the overall localization enhancements.
