The new project window makes a distinction between "new project" and "new application" - but it looks like the word "application" should just be replaced with "project". Product Version: NetBeans Ruby IDE 070710 Java: 1.6.0_01; Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM 1.6.0_01-b06 System: Windows Vista version 6.0 running on x86; Cp1252; en_US (nbrubyide) Userdir: C:\Users\James\AppData\Roaming\.nbrubyide\dev
This should be fixed for 6.0 (simple one-minute fix). "Project" is shorter than "Application". This is the advantage I see :). But otherwise no strong opinion.
Actually this is actually how it is implemented in all types of projects (e.g. Java). We followed their conventions here determined by our HIE ("Human Interface Engineering" I think). So this is how it should be. If you have strong opinion about this, please reopen and I'll reassign to HIE team for evaluation.
