We (webteam, webmaster@) quite often get mails from users about downloaded bits not working, ie they download NB and it is corrupt. The typical first reaction is that the file on the site is corrupt, whereas in 99% of cases the live file is fine but the download failed somehow. The best way to confirm where the problem is is usually by comparing exact filesizes and md5sums of the files. Without them the user cannot check for themselves if they have an exact copy of the file on the website. Currently on the downloads pages we give only an approximate filesize (eg "20MB"). How about making more detail - md5sum and/or full filesize, in bytes - available, eg on the start.html page ? Thanks.
done for fcs (release60 branch). When it is live I`ll do the same changes for development (trunk) builds.
