When i try to change the Default font type for All languages, i need to close the "Font & Color" options panel, re-open
and set my font preferences again.

Do you mean that preview area is not updated, when font is changed?

Both Preview Area and Editor.

The editor seems to be updated properly when you OK the dialog. The broken preview was reported in issue #128397. So, I
think this is a duplicate of issue #128397. If I'm wrong please reopen. Thanks
