This issue was created from multiple issue #15823.

Expand some filesystem and do not stay in the expanded tree - select different
node - i.e. Filesystems root node in the explorer. After ide restart the
expanded filesystem will be collapsed.

To fix this it would require to change the serialization of TreeView
and NbMainExplorer. It would also require adding methods to TreeView
which is an API change. Marking target milestone as 3.4.
Whether this is defect or enhancement is not clear. Maybe UI defect?
